A Summer of Opportunity for Future Ready Teens

As the school year winds down, summer programming for teens is ramping up. In addition to our middle school and high school summer learning programs, with a STEM-focus and college-focus respectively, our Future Ready students are taking advantage of a multitude of new opportunities this summer.

Camp Stella Maris

20 Future Ready middle school students are jumping headfirst into summer with a trip to summer camp! Thanks to our friends at Renewal By Andersen, students will experience the great outdoors, have fun with swimming and watersports, and create new friendships and connections for a week-long stay at one of Rochester's oldest and most popular summer camps, Camp Stella Maris.

Caddie & Leadership Academy

Future Ready teens recently applied to and interviewed for the Caddie & Leadership Academy of WNY. We are very proud to announce that 7 students were accepted into this year's class! To be accepted into the program applicants needed at least a 3.0 GPA and to exemplify good character, integrity, responsibility and effort. Teens are participating in a 12-week program where they learn how to be a caddie and attend leadership meetings, with the ultimate goal of continuing their caddie careers throughout high school and applying for exclusive scholarships within the program.

Camp College Prep

Many incoming Future Ready seniors are making the most of their final summer before graduation by preparing themselves to apply for college this fall. Camp College Prep is here to help them! Over four-sessions, students will write their college admissions essay, create an activity resume, prepare for SAT/ACTs, and develop their own personal timeline for the admissions process.

Manning & Napier Internship

6 teens will head to Manning & Napier for a week long internship to experience the corporate world and network with the M&N team. Students will visit with each department and explore the world of investment management. This is a fantastic follow-up for students interested in careers in finance that recently visited the financial district in NYC

Driver Education

Thanks to the Generator Z Grant received from Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, we are able to provide 30 eager teens with driving lessons and their 5-hour course. Nearly 50% of our families do not own their own vehicle, making it extremely difficult for their children to learn how to drive at home. Students specifically requested this when applying for the grant and we are thrilled to provide this opportunity of growth and independence.
