Success for students:
Student Success Project (SSP), is powered by parents of students with learning challenges, with lived experiences navigating educational systems. Parent/Family Partners activate other families to pursue their children’s educational success through coaching, advocacy, and resources. With SSP support, families better understand educational rights, IEPs, support services, evaluations, and the school options available.
The Possibilities of Tomorrow campaign powers our innovative cradle-to-career pathway for 2,400 students. Now, we can go even further! The Sands Family Foundation has expanded and extended its 150% matching grant through year-end, which means your gift makes a difference for even more local students!
Preparing for the Future @ EnCompass: Resources for Learning
New pathways & partners:
20 high school students are preparing for the Hive's first-ever Career Camp! This new concept in career exploration pairs colleges and employers to provide immersive workforce development experiences. In July, TOPTICA Photonics, FLCC, and MCC Optics will join forces for a 4-day, hands-on STEM adventure to introduce teens to the in-demand fields of Photonics, Optics, and Lasers.
The EnCompass-Nazareth University summer learning partnership spans 9 years and has evolved from program site to so much more; now, Graduate School of Education students, specializing in literacy, offer students reading intervention, and the Social Work Department organizes story times with therapy dogs to promote social-emotional development. This expanded relationship benefits future educators and social workers, and enhances progress for students.

Beginnings:
The NHS Class of '23 graduated on June 23 and their futures are golden! With 11 students off to 2 and 4-year colleges, 4 pursuing vocational training, and 1 stepping into the workforce, their paths are varied and filled with promise. "Meet" the graduates and read about their plans on The Norman Howard School's Facebook and Instagram pages!
Across our organizations, students lead the way and the newly launched NHS Student Council has infused school culture with fresh energy and amplified the student voice. With flair and success, they orchestrated a range of engaging activities from an unforgettable high school prom, to enticing school spirit wear sales.
