Quad A at EnCompass

Two of Rochester’s longstanding expanded learning providers have joined forces. EnCompass: Resources for Learning, academic and wraparound services organization, has assumed operations of all Quad A programs, formerly administered by Rochester Area Community Foundation Initiatives (RACFI). RACFI is proud to have led Quad A for Kids for the past 26 years, and the change comes as the Foundation further refines its focus on philanthropy.

Quad A at EnCompass will continue to offer high-quality afterschool experiences for children and families and deepen collaboration with its current Rochester City School District school partners. Cara Fitzgerald, EnCompass Director, and her academic team are pleased to welcome Isaac Bliss aboard as Administrator of the program.

The program start is delayed as EnCompass waits for the transition to finalized at the state level, but plans are in place for Quad A at EnCompass afterschool programs to run during the 2021-22 school year. EnCompass will promote alignment between the school day and afterschool programming and recruit site coordinators, afterschool teachers, and enrichment coaches from the schools where the programs operate.

EnCompass’ academically-based afterschool programs use learning as a platform for social-emotional development and personal growth. STEM-based inquiry, hands-on learning, enrichment clubs, language/literacy support, and whole-family supports combine for a holistic, safe, supportive setting. Quad A at EnCompass students will benefit from opportunities for year-round learning, connection to whole-family wraparound supports, and access to EnCompass’ college and career development program as they transition to middle and high school.

Part of the Education Success Foundation family of organizations, EnCompass serves 2,400 children and their families within a pre-K through graduation pathway of year-round academic, wraparound Navigation, college and career development, job training, and job placement services. Students served hail from 37 different Rochester schools, and the merge with Quad A grows EnCompass’ portfolio of afterschool programs to 10.
